# Second read

You wrote a draft. You are tired of looking at it. **You do not get to call it finished** until something else has read it cold.

In a normal Claude chat, "something else" means **a fresh conversation** — not the same thread that wrote the draft.

## When you use it

Before you send, post, or hand in:

- A careful email or memo
- Copy others will see
- Anything where a mistake is embarrassing or costly

## Method (any chat tool)

1. Finish your draft in chat A.
2. Open **chat B** (new conversation). Do not paste your reasoning from chat A — paste only:
   - This skill (or its URL)
   - The draft
   - What the draft is for (one sentence)
3. Ask chat B: *What would a careful reader notice? What is missing, wrong, or unclear? Do not rewrite — list findings.*
4. You fix the draft. Chat B does not send anything.

## What the second read checks

- Facts you promised but did not include
- Tone wrong for the audience
- Ambiguity that will cause a follow-up thread
- Obvious typos and broken logic

## Not done

- "Looks good!" with no specifics
- A rewrite that hides the problems
- Letting the same chat validate its own first draft

## Done when

You have a short list of findings, you fixed what matters, and **you** still press send.
