# Voice card Generic AI sounds like a press release. A **voice card** is a short note about how **you** sound, pasted at the top of a chat so the assistant stops averaging the internet. Build it once. Reuse it every time. ## Build your card (ten minutes) From three emails **you actually sent** (not templates), extract: 1. **Tone** — warm, direct, formal, plain, etc. 2. **Length** — short paragraphs? one screen? 3. **Never** — words or habits you hate ("just checking in," exclamation piles, corporate filler) 4. **Always** — how you greet, how you sign, one thing you always do Write half a page max. First person. Specific beats impressive. ## How to use it Paste the voice card at the **top** of the chat, then your job: ``` [Voice card] [Job] ``` ## The one edit rule If the output sounds wrong, **fix the voice card first** — not a longer argument in the chat. People rewrite the job line when the real problem is the card. ## Done when Someone who knows your mail would say: *That sounds like you wrote it.*
